Camp UniStar is located on the NorthEast point of Star Island and is only accessible via chartered boat service. The half-hour trip to camp begins at Sail Star Marina in Cass Lake, MN. The town of Cass Lake is on US Hwy 2, which connects Duluth and Grand Forks. Cass Lake can also be reached from St. Cloud via US Hwy 10 and MN Hwy 371.
SailStar Marina operates a covered, Coast Guard-approved pontoon; the cost is included in your camp fee. There are three scheduled departures on the Saturday afternoon of each camp week at approximately 2:30, 3:45, and 5:00 pm to cross Cass Lake. Campers will receive email communication the week before attending with boat times and other important information. If you live in the Twin Cities or northern Minnesota, please try to take the earlier trips, leaving room later for those coming from farther away. On the last morning of each week, campers are ferried back to the marina.

Arriving at SailStar Marina
The first boat is scheduled to leave at 2:30 PM, so plan to arrive by 2:00 PM to get your car unpacked and parked, and your luggage on the pontoon. There is a free parking lot at the marina. However, cars have been vandalized in the open parking lot in the past. Locked, indoor car storage is available at the marina for a fee of $14.00 for the week. Call Camp UniStar (218-335-2692) if you miss the boat or need a personal boat towed. A donation is requested for unscheduled boat trips.
Private Boaters: Please do not arrive at camp before 3:30 PM on Saturday.
