A UU Perspective on Freeing the Upper Mississippi

July 19 - July 26

A UU Perspective on Freeing the Upper Mississippi
Program Leader: Molly MacGregor

Learn about Cass Lake through time and explore the lake’s connections to us and the world.

UUs believe in the interconnectedness of all things, but how is Cass Lake connected to us? How was the lake formed, how is it part of the Mississippi River, how has it been used by people, and how has that use changed over time?  Our inquiry into the interconnectedness of Cass Lake will combine informational sessions with hands-on activities.

Molly MacGregor is a member of the Itasca Unitarian Fellowship in Grand Rapids. She had careers in journalism and natural resources management, serves on the Grand Rapids City Council, and in retirement is spreading the idea of freeing the Mississippi River from the dams in the Headwaters.
