Adventures in Fiber Arts: Knot, Needle, Weave and Bead
August 2 - August 9
Adventures in Fiber Arts: Knot, Needle, Weave and Bead
Program Leader: Erin Boe
Make your own traditional fiber crafts with an award-winning teacher.
Explore the rich world of textile art with professional arts educator Erin Boe. We’ll learn macramé knotting, cross-stitch embroidery, weaving, and making beadwork inspired by traditional Dakota art. We will learn how to sketch and create our own designs to use these traditional crafts and make original works of art. All required materials will be provided; participants have the option to bring clothing or other textiles to camp to adorn with beadwork or embroidery.
Erin Boe is a children’s illustrator and high school art teacher at Maple Grove Senior High. She was recently named the 2024-25 Minnesota Art Educator of the Year for creating “Unified Art,” a class offered through Special Olympics that pairs students of all ability levels to create collaborative artwork.
